BIO

Ariadna Garrido.

Ariadna was born in Valencia and is a Catalan Language student at the University of Valencia and UOC and also a member of a cultural association called El Gat Negre (The Black Cat). Her own exigency of a constant improvement and her personal maturing processes helped her win two Sambori Awards at an early age. Nowadays, she is working and living in Manchester, UK.

The will of gathering a bunch of ideas, convictions, experiences and other concerns will be the two main reasons why you can read her articles and interviews in Mirales a Spanish lgtb+ magazine. She is also a Head Translator of Beat Valencia, a leading music magazine in the city. As a passionate word researcher, you can find her literary translations in Catalan and Spanish of the children’s book The Hairy Plug Monster by Leighroy Marsh. Ariadna has published a poetry book in Catalan called 23, ed. Germania (2014) and participates in the bilingual anthology Mare Omnium ed. Lastura (2015) and in a second anthology written entirely in Portuguese: Atlântica ed. Ianua (2016). Ariadna’s more intimate thoughts are written on her personal blog (http://prismesdevidre.blogspot.co.uk/) and different social media platforms.

 

Awaiting publication is Mare, Pare: He Perdut el Nas! (Mum, Dad: I Lost My Nose!), a Catalan illustrated book, and also another future project called El Ojo Izquierdo (The Left Eye) a Spanish poetry book that nourishes from the last past experiences. She keeps working with a wide range photography collaborations worldwide that influence her vision flourishing in different creative proposals where converge in a variety of arts normally.

Upcoming projects

Illustrated books 

An Illustrated book written in Catalan by Ariadna Garrido and delineated by Sara Bellés called Mare, Pare: He Perdut El Nas! (Mum, Dad: I lost my nose!) is looking for a brave editorial to publish it. 

Poetry books

Also, an ambitious poetry book called El Ojo Izquierdo (The Left Eye) is being written in Spanish. It will encapsulate life experiences during the last three years. 

 

Estigma (Stigma), is another poetry book in Catalan that will be published by Ianua editorial this autumn. It will leave you a stein. 

Theatre books

La Propina (The Tip), a play co-written with Francesc Palanca, will set a serious tone, socio-economical problems will shine through the characters for sure.
